Cotswolds at Christmas

(Last Updated On: December 10, 2018)

As the days grow shorter and the air becomes distinctly crisper, it can only mean one thing – Christmas is just around the corner! The season of all things roasted, mulled, spiced and sparkling will soon be upon us, and what better way to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year than in a chocolate box cottage nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds!

The Cotswolds provides beautiful landscapes and breathtaking views whatever season you visit, but there is something very magical about this area during the winter months. Whether you want to explore the dewy  hills on foot, soak up the atmosphere at a glowing Cotswold Christmas market, or simply cosy up next to a roaring open fire, there is no better place to enjoy the festive holiday season. If you’re dreaming of a white Christmas, then snow in the Cotswolds makes for a truly unforgettable experience.

Why stay in a Cotswold cottage at Christmas?

There are countless reasons as to why you should spend the festive period in the Cotswolds. If you find the build up to Christmas a little bit stressful, then a relaxing stay in the idyllic countryside could be exactly what you need. Perhaps you’re picturing a tranquil country break away from the hustle and bustle of urban life, or maybe you’re simply looking for a different way to spend the holidays, we promise that a stay in one of our countryside retreats will inject the magic back into Christmas.

A lot of our cottages are dog friendly, so your four-legged companions don’t have to miss out on the fun, they can enjoy the freedom of the rolling Cotswold hills and their turkey dinner with you!

What is Christmas without the food? Whether its the sumptuous puddings, crumbly mince pies, or the all important golden turkey – nothing beats a home cooked Christmas dinner. All of our cottages have fully equipped kitchens, complete with utensils and cutlery, so if you’re planning on cooking your Christmas dinner at your home away from home, you don’t need to worry about  bringing anything except the ingredients!

Upon arrival at your cottage, you will find it festively decorated with a beautiful tree in the main communal area. Guests are welcome to bring their own additional decorations, or you can simply arrive, relax, and enjoy the fact that the hard work has been done for you!

As well as being one of the most beautiful areas in England, the Cotswolds is also very well connected, (only 90 minutes from London by train) making it the perfect central location to hold a festive gathering. Christmas is a time for family, so if you’re looking to hold a big family get-together but lack the space or facilities, then one of our larger properties could be exactly what you’re looking for.
