Cotswold Christmas Markets 2019(Last Updated On: 5th November 2019)
Christmas might seem like some way off, but Cotswold Christmas Markets 2019 will be swinging into action in November and early December. So, if you want to make a weekend of it, possibly visiting a couple of markets, we advise you to get in the spirit of things today and book yourself a Cotswold holiday cottage close to one of these Christmas markets…
1. The Mary Howard Christmas Fair
Cotswold Airport, GL7 6BQ
The longest running and original upmarket Christmas shopping experience in the Cotswolds, returning to Cotswold Airport for another year and in aid of Youth Action Wiltshire Charity. With over 150 unique specialist retailers, expect beautiful gift options ranging from artisan foodie treats and pampering beauty products, to beautiful children’s gifts, luxury clothing and homeware, and plenty of unique ideas for the home.
2. Cheltenham Christmas Market 2019
21 November – 14 December
Location: The Promenade, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL50 1PJ (Outside House of Fraser)
40 German-style wooden chalet on Cheltenham’s Promenade, selling everything for Christmas from gifts to special foods. When the Christmas market ends, it is replaced from the 17th – 24th December by the Christmas Arts & Crafts Market.
3. Bath Christmas Market 2019
28 November – 16 December
Possibly the biggest and best market in the region, with 150 chalets spread around the Georgian streets of the city and at the foot of Bath Cathedral, selling handmade, unique gifts, food and drinks. (Park & Ride highly recommended as it’s very difficult to park in the city during the market.)

4. Gloucester Quays Christmas Market 2019
14 – 24 November
Location: The Quays, Gloucester. Car park: GL1 5SF
A Christmas market with a Victorian feel with over 150 stalls selling gifts, food and more, plus an open-air ice rink.
5. Tewkesbury Festival of Christmas Lights and Christmas Market 2019
Location: centre of Tewkesbury
A one-day event when the Christmas lights are turned on, with 80 stalls selling gifts and crafts, plus falconry displays and fairground.
6. Cirencester Christmas Market 2019
Location: Centre of Cirencester
Taking place in the centre of the “Capital of the Cotswolds”, with lots of stalls selling gifts, food and drink. There will also be a Festive Farmers’ Market on December 14 and 28 (9am-2.30pm).
7. Hook Norton Brewery Christmas Market
November 30th, 12pm – 8pm
“Enjoy a variety of Market stalls, Hook Norton Brass Band, Mulled Wine and plenty of cheer! The perfect opportunity for some Christmas shopping! Master Engraver, Nick Davey from Dartington Crystal will be engraving all Dartington Crystal products FOC from 2pm – 8pm – a brilliant personalised gift idea!”
8. Blenheim Palace Christmas Market
22 November – 15 December
Location: Blenheim Palace, Woodstock
“Kick off the festivities by joining us for our annual Christmas Market, with ceramics, textiles, homewares, leather goods, jewellery, toys, stationery, bags, hats and so much more, it is the perfect place to begin your Christmas shopping.” You can combine the visit to the market with the Illuminated Light Trail and Alice in the Palace.
9. Moreton-in-the-Marsh Christmas Market & Lights Switch On
A wide range of stalls selling gifts, Christmas foodie items and drink. The market starts at 9am and ends with the arrival of Father Christmas who switches on the town’s Christmas lights display.
10. Chipping Campden Christmas Market
Plenty of unique gifts will on sale alongside delicious festive food and an appearance from Father Christmas. Enjoy live music and family-friendly entertainment when the town’s Christmas lights will be switched on at 5.30pm on Saturday, December 7. Over 40 craft and gift stalls for you to choose all your Christmas presents.
11. Oxford Christmas Market
Held each year on historic Broad Street, the Oxford Christmas market features.. “Choirs singing Christmas carols, market traders offering unusual and handmade gifts, colourful decorations brightening wooden stalls and the aroma of mulled wine and cinnamon drifting in the air.” (Park & Ride highly recommended as it’s very difficult to park in the city during the market.)
12. Daylesford Christmas Fair
Be sure to visit this fab Christmas Fair at Daylesford Organic Farm (GL56 0YG) in support of WellChild – the charity that provides practical and emotional support to seriously ill children. The quality of the gifts and products being sold is incredible at this fair. It’s well worth a visit…and you can walk through to Daylesford Cafe for a lovely treat to yourself at the end of your shopping day! The Fair begins with a special preview evening on Monday 11th November at 6:00pm until 9:30pm. The Christmas Fair then continues on Tuesday 12th 9:00am to 5:00pm and Wednesday 13th November 9:00am to 5:00pm. Due to overwhelming demand last year, booking is strongly advised.
