There is no surer sign that Spring has sprung than the emergence of the golden-hued daffodils crowding the hedgerows and bringing a much-needed burst of colour to our gardens. With all the Easter events in the Cotswolds, it really is the perfect place for an Easter holiday, whether you are looking for a peaceful retreat for two or a larger family get-together. There’s plenty going on across the region to keep everyone entertained including fun-filled Easter Egg trails and the lambing extravaganza at the Cotswold Farm Park.

So why not enjoy an Easter break in the Cotswolds and enjoy some of the wonderful Easter events taking place? Whilst our properties are booking fast, we still have some lovely places available to suit all group sizes, many are dog-friendly too as you can bring your four-legged friends along for the fun. Have a look at our Cotswold cottages available for Easter here.

Read on to see what eggcellent Easter events are on the calendar this year.

Big Batsford Bunny Hunt

Help round up the Easter bunny’s helpers who have all escaped and are now hopping around the Arboretum. Find them all to claim your prize. Whilst there is no need to pre-book the bunny hunt, Batford is very popular, especially on a sunny day and we would recommend pre-booking your admission to the arboretum.

When | 1st – 16th April

Easter Eggstravaganza at Blenheim Palace

Blenheim Palace is a fabulous family day out and the Easter weekend is no eggception. In the walled garden, you’ll find all sorts of activities including circus skills, bungee trampolines, balloon animal making and a travelling vintage variety show. There will also be Easter treats on offer for visitors with Hotel Chocolat returning with their fun and interactive Chocolate Workshops for youngsters. Plus, there will be special guest appearances from the Easter bunny over the weekend as well as an Easter egg hunt through the grounds.

When | 7th – 10th April

Easter Activities at Westonbirt Arboretum

Spend a few hours in the fresh air and explore the trails at Westonbirt Arboretum. Collect a colour palette and colour scavenger hunt on arrival and then see how many spring colours you can spot on your walk and learn about the pollinators that ensure they return year after year. Or learn about the native birds and try your hand at making your own birdfeeder.

When | Various dates between 3rd and 22nd April. Check the website for details.

Easter Egg Hunt at Snowshill Manor and Garden

Explore the magical arts and crafts garden at Snowshill Manor as you go on the hunt for Easter eggs. To help you on your quest is a trail map, pencil and the obligatory bunny ears. There’s a chocolate reward at the end.

When | 1st – 16th April

Duck Detectives at Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust

Get close to nature on the Slimbridge Easter trail. Investigate the mystery of the missing duck and use all of your super sleuth skills to find feathers, listen to bird calls and identify duck footprints, only then can you become a true Duck Detective. It’s a wonderfully immersive experience for the whole family.

When | 1st – 16th April

Lambing at the Cotswold Farm Park

This hugely popular annual attraction is back, bigger and better than ever before. With over 800 lambs expected on the farm this year, this is one of the largest events of its kind in the UK and it’s right here in the Cotswolds. Listen to talks from the experts, bottle feed baby lambs and kids and perhaps catch a live birth.

When | 1st March – 16th April

Sudeley Castle ‘NestFest’ Easter Egg Hunt

Tucked into the beautiful Cotswold hills in the medieval town of Winchcombe Sudeley Castle is bringing an educational feel to its traditional Easter Egg hunt. Running from the 1st to the 16th of April their ‘NestFest’ Easter egg trail takes you on a hunt for six giant eggs, which need to be matched with the birds they belong to. The sticker sheet you collect on arrival helps you keep an eye on what you find and there’s an Easter treat at the end when you’ve finished.

When | 1st – 16th April
